when my check engine light came on, I though it might be the alternator and had it checked at auto electric, nope all ok , then I stopped at Mitsubishi and their analysis: ECM is bad and it effects tons of things on the car They would put in a new one for $1100 or rebuilt for $500. For that kind of money, I can teach myself a lot of things. Went to google, found ECMtogo , got rebuilt ECM for $150 and found take out and re install info on google, as well as the "tap positive battery post 3X " . Well it all worked, plus I called ECMtogo and he was very helpful with info. j b anchorage ak OUTPUT: didn't ask for your story of what yours was about. A check engine light could be one of many things. Only way to really know is have someone hood it up to a computer and check which code was set off. Im curious where you bought your rebuilt ECM at? Ive been looking all over the place but can only find one for $300+ any info would help.
