Evidentally you have an injector that is hanging open. You should be able to just look at the injectors and see if they are leaking and not spraying a fine cone of fuel. The diluted oil can cause engine damage if run too long.

About a million and one different things can make that happen.
It would most definenlty be the A.I.V piping if it sounds like a gurgle in the front fender.

The vacuum system on a vehicle serves many purposes. A cracked air hose could most definitely cause an engine sputter.
