Serbia is not a part of Montenegro anymore. They separated. The capital of Serbia is Belgrade. The capital of Montenegro is Podgorica. They are to separate countries. While they were one country the capital was Belgrade. In montenegro they are "crnogorci" in Serbia they are "Srbi" two different countries.
Belgrade is the capital of Serbia now. Prior to 1992, it was the capital of Yugoslavia until that country's breakup. It was the capital, from 1992 to 2003, of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, and from 2003 to 2006 the unofficial capital of the State Union of Serbia and Montenegro, which now exists as the two separate countries. (The de facto capital of Montenegro is Podgorica.)

I don't know if it was the original capital, but it certainly was the capital at one point. Expalnation: "Belgrade was always, as long as Yugoslavia existed, the capital city. At first it was capital of medieval Serbia, than the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes, the capital of Yugoslavia, and now is a capitol of the Republic of Serbia."
Belgrade is the capital of Serbia and the former capital of Yugoslavia, now disolved into Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, Croatia and Macedonia. According to some international agreements and governments, the self-proclaimed Kosovo is a republic of its own, but within Serbia it stil holds a provincial status. Bottom line here - there is no country starting with Y in Europe.
Belgrade is the capitol of Serbia, former Yugoslavia. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Belgrade is the capital city of Serbia, this having been A PART (one of the units) of former Yugoslavia. (This is not a one-sided answer; I respect all those countries in Balkans; but what I typed is the reality in terms of History, Geography, Politics, Sociology etc.; thus it is a correct and clear information. - Thank you, if accepted.)
