It doesn't give a date, but there are clues in the story. It tells that the census was taken and people had to return to their home for the census. The census was usually done in the summer months. It also tells about the Shepards in the fields watching their flocks. This would have also been in the summer months. So all hints point to around July or Aug when he was born. Why Dec 25th ? In the early middle ages when the Catholic church began as the dominate religion they saw that the pagan rituals could be replaced with Christian ones. The pagan winter solace happened around Dec. 25th, so it became the birth of Jesus instead of the pagan celebration.
Jesus was born in Bethlehem. read Matthew 2:1, Luke 2:1-6. that is what the bible said. but if you do not agree with the bible, then you will not believe this. i have heard that other faiths and tradition say other thing, but i can not remember what they are sorry.
Also according to Luke, Jesus was born over ten years later during the census of Judea that Quirinius called when he became governor of Syria and was given overall command of the new province of Judea, in 6 CE.
Some have tried to harmonise the two accounts, even saying that Quirinius served twice in Syria in spite of the known history of his career in the Roman administration. The best explanation comes from Raymond E. Brown (An Introduction to the New Testament), who says that, although Luke likes to set his Christian drama in the context of well-known events from antiquity, sometimes he does so inaccurately.
A:While most celebrate the birth of Chirst on December 25, the actual time I believe as related to the time of the census is possibly some time in June of July. Due to persecution from the Romans, the followers of Christ celebrated the holiday farthest possible from the given day.
The Bible does not give an answer as to what day or hour Jesus was born, but it is generally accepted by scholars that he was born in the spring or summer, due to the fact that the census would have been taken then.

I really don't believe there is any way 2 know 4 sure. Nobody who was there @ the time took note of the date, and besides, I suspect that the calender has been altered @ least a couple times since then. So your guess might very well be as good as mine...
According to both Matthew and Luke, Jesus was born during the reign of King Herod, who died in April 4 BCE. The story in Matthew suggests that he was born some years earlier.

Because the Bible wrote contrary statements regarding Jesus' birth. According to Matthew 2:1, Jesus was born on or before 4 BCE (Herod died 4BCE). But according to Luke 2:1, Jesus was born on 6CE (AD). Cyrenius or Quirinius became Governor of Syria in 6CE.For more info, see related question "When was Jesus born?"
