Betsy Ross was the 8th child of 17. Born on January 1st 1752. Her religion was a Quaker. Quakers could not play cards they could not listen or dance to music. When they grew up they had to marry another Quaker. Also they had plain dresses. Betsy or Elisabeth Griscom (that's the name she was born with) learned how to sew from her great aunt
Betsy Ross came from a large family. She was the eighth child out of 17 children born to her parents. She was raised as a Quaker, and went to Quaker schools. When she choose to marry outside of her religion, she split from her family. Her family, and her Quaker friends wanted nothing more to do with her.
