Copernicus was an astronomer that put together an heliocentric model of the universe. Heliocentric, the sun being at the center of the universe. It is said that he began the Scientific Revolution.

¨Science progresses. And although Copernicus' model of the solar system had flaws, it was a step in the right direction. That right direction was needed to have been taking, for others to expand on those steps.

Copernicus Heliocentric Theory had proven that all wrong misleading information of church that earth was flat , other planets revolve around Earth and etc.. were proven wrong thus it helped in increase of spirit of enquiry among common people that led to encouragement for people to protest against the church. This had changed the mindset of people blindly beliving the church and today we have and better society . So thanks Copernicus ! for more Questions plzz ask

Nicholas Copernicus believed the Earth traveled around the sun. The Catholic Church did not believe this was true.
