Isaac Newton was born in 1643 at Woolsthorpe, England. His father died three months before his birth. His mother remarried but did not wish to raise Isaac. Isaac Newton was raised by his grandmother. He attended Free Grammar School and then went on to Trinity College Cambridge. Newton worked his way through college. While at college he became interested in math and astronomy. Newton received both a bachelors and masters degree.

Where did Sir Isaac Newton work while he was a scintest?
Newton was a student at Trinity College Cambridge, however shortly after he graduated, the college was closed as a precaution against the plague. During the two years of closure, Newton did important work on calculus, optics and gravitation at his home in Woolsthorpe in Lincolnshire. He returned to Trinity College as a fellow. Most of his important work - including writing the Principia was done during his time at Trinity.
