Thirty pieces of silver.

These were most likely Roman denarii. A silver piece was the standard wage for a day's work for an unskilled labourer. So, in modern terms, thirty pieces of silver was a month's salary for an unskilled worker. Hardly a King's ransom.

According to The Bible, Judas was paid 30 pieces of silver.

A 'piece of silver' was most likely a Roman denarius, legal tender in the province of Judaea where the crucifixion took place. This was equivalent of one day's wage for an unskilled labourer, so 30 pieces of silver was about a month's salary for an unskilled worker - hardly a king's ransom.

Jesus was sold out for 30 silver coins. Judas betrayed Jesus for 30 silver coins from the roman treasury.

Judas told the Romans that Jesus would be praying in a chapel (I'm not sure which) and the Romans stormed in and took him prisoner.hope this helps.

For betraying Jesus, Judas got 30 pieces of silver (the price of a slave -Exodus 21:32), the appreciation of the religious leaders of his day, and a really guilty conscience. (Matthew 26:14-16/Mark 14:10+11/Matthew 27:3-5)
