there was no such thing as a teenager. when you were old enough to breed, you got married and started a family.

I would add that "breeding" was not foremost, but bringing money in was, so children went to work as soon as they were able, getting married was later.

There wasn't a "teenager" in the middle ages. People were babies and then they were grown. By the time a child was 8 they were expected to be working, helping with the crops, or an apprentice. The idea of a "teen" doesn't happen until the 1940's. Most people lived a very short and hard life in the middle ages and were dead by their mid 20's.

There were no "teenagers" in the middle ages. A person was a child and then they were grown. The term teenager is a modern term that came about in the 1940's and the ideas that someone has no responsibility from age 13 to 18 is also modern. At these ages in the middle ages people were married, working, fighting in wars, and they only lived to about 25 years old. Life was short and hard.

What was life like in the early 1400s?

Life in the 1400's was considered the end period of the Middle Ages (1066-1485). It was a period considered barbaric and was dominated by the Feudal system. It encompassed the crusades, so war was a common aspect of life. The peasant life was toil and they lived in simple huts. Furniture was basic, chairs were rare. Even the rich did not have chairs (only the Lord sat in one). The rich ate well (pork, mutton) but the poor rarely had meat (it was luck to have a rabbit).
