What Elvis Presley thought of his fame?

Elvis was always appreciative of his fame (i.e. to God, his fans, those who worked with him, his family, his manager, etc.).

Even though Elvis (sadly) could not go out in public and do "normal things" Elvis never resented this and was most certainly the most photographed, and signed the most Autographs, of any entertainer who ever lived.

Elvis always questioned "why has God chosen me" and he shared with others his concern "will my fans ever remember me when I die" and "if you cut me I will bleed".

Elvis was always appreciative of the monetary benefits his fame brought him and consistently shared his money with those close to him...and even strangers. For every charitable act that Elvis performed that was made public he made many more in private.

Elvis always wanted to give his fans his best and he always said, when asked why he sang so long and performed so energetically, that "some of these people have never seen me live before and they have paid their hard earned money to see me now" and "I want to give them a show they will never forget".
