They consisted mainly of groups of wooden huts surrounded by electrified barbed wire fences. Spot lights at night with armed guards. The Germans had dogs for those that dared to try and escape and it didn't much matter to the German soldiers if the dog killed the prisoner or not. Food was scarce and what they received wasn't fit for a dog. They often went thirsty. They didn't have proper toilet facilities. The Germans would on occasion "delouse" the prisoners with disinfectants right in the middle of the yard of the concentration camp so men, women and children had no privacy.

they tortured people and kicked them around like dirt . they would all line up in a straight line and a doctor would see if they are healthy or not , and if they are then they let them live and if they arent then they kill them . another thing they do in the concentration camps is they make all the boys take off ALL their clothes and they go in a room , and if they are all lucky enough then the Nazi's will turn on water for the men so they can take a shower but they might not be so lucky becuz the Nazi's might send a gas down and kill them all . they do the same thing to the girls too . but if you really wanna know more watch the movie called shinlingers list . or the boy in the striped pajamas. ok ?

The first camp to be used as a general purpose holding camp for the Jews was Terezin, just north of Prague in the Czech Republic. Terezin (Theresienstadt) was originally built as a fortified military garrison town (long before the Nazis came to power) with a large military prison attached. The military prison was used for political prisoners from before World War I (Gavril Princip died there) and when the Nazis annexed Czechoslovakia soon became a favourite place to house Nazi undesirables. Before long political prisoners were being kept in the Military prison while the town was being used as a long term holding pen for Jews. The Nazis even made a film saying how lucky the Jews were to be imprisoned there. Terezin was never an actual death-camp. People died of overcrowding, malnutrition and because the Nazis allowed no medical supplies into the compound. But if a Jewish family needed to be killed in a hurry they were first evacuated to Auschwitz or Belsen-Buchenwald.
