What did the Franklin stove look like?

It is like a metal box with a chimney flue. Its big advantage is compared to a fireplace.

In a fireplace, a huge fraction of the heat goes up the chimney and you only get heat

if you stand in front of it. The Franklin stove can be in the center of the room and warm

the room in all directions.
