The purpose of the Gettysburg address, was for Abraham Lincoln to help to dedicate the National Soldiers Cemetery in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. In one of the shortest speeches ever, Lincoln gave a speech honoring the men that had died on the 3 days of fighting and proclaiming that the end of the war would bring about "a new birth of freedom". Basically he said that because of those that died the nation would forever more be free. "And that the government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth."
That nation or any nation so conceived and so dedicated can long endure. That's all I know............ I hope it help you guys
it made them stronger. because they won
Well in November 19, 1863 Abraham Lincoln read his speech(the Gettysburg Address) at the dedication of soldiers in the nation cemetery at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, during the Civil War. "Four score and seven years ago…", was the beginning of Abraham's speech. He is referring to the event that has occurred in the Civil War. Another thing is to dedicate the living to the struggle and to see that "government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth." None of this may not answer your question but it helped me. If you need any additional help go to www.wikihow.com it helped me
