The Romans were a very open society to how different and new religions. This was one of the reasons how Christianity spread through Rome and her provinces. However, paganism and other cults were the main form of religion in the early Roman Republic. When the Roman legions took over the Greek islands, Greek mythology and religious beliefs mixed into Roman cults and pagan culture. There were so many different beliefs, so Romans did not have many religious ceremonies. When a child was born, they would have their own prayers and other traditional doings. When their was a death in the family, they would do likewise. Romans would also pray to their gods in time of need, trouble, economic ruin, and health problems.
