The USA Declared war on Japan. After we declared war we sent our aircraft carriers to japan with a bunch of of bombers. The big reason that we did this was to prove we could strike back and cause a lot of damage to them. This was called the doodle raide. The plane blow up a japanes industreal city and hope the bombers had enogh fuel to get into china because the aircrafts had to be a long way away so they wouldn't get destroyed.
