Muslims sacrifice animals, that is usually distributed to the poor, to thank God for the gift of health and well being and as a gesture for Prophet Ibrahim willing to sacrifice his son in obedience to God. Ibrahim was ordered to sacrifice a great Ram instead of his son, you can read the article to see what is the logic behind that.
Muslims slaughter animals according to their religion, which requires a person (anyone) to get a knife and cut the animals throat (not to cut the animals head all the way).
This is called to Muslims Halal meat this also goes to birds but fish as they die from lack of water by themselves are not required to do slaughter them.
I did not include the reasons why and what the positive sides are, didn't want to get out of subject
It's a broad question but on the festival of Eid-ul-Adha, Muslims sacrifice an animal such as a sheep, goat, ox, camel or a ram.
Allah hu akbar - god is great
Slaughtering is worse
Almighty Allah (God) has made certain animals Halal (lawful) and some others Haram (unlawful). He has also taught how to slaughter an animal. Kosher is the way an animal should be slaughtered. The Muslims don't eat the following; "Forbidden to you are the dead meat and blood, and swine flesh, and that on which the name other than Allah's has been pronounced at the time of slaughter, and that which has died by strangling, and that which dies due to a blow, and that which dies due to a fall, and that which is killed by impact, and that which has been eaten by a beast except the one that you slaughter, and those that are slaughtered at the altars, and that you distribute by drawing lot with arrows, all these are sins." All pure things are lawful to the Muslims.

Yes. In fact there is a case I am currently trying to find in which Muslims killed around 3,000 christians before Richard's slaughter of the 1,000 Muslims. Both sides killed each other....as was often the case of war during those times.
Much food is the same for both, except the following: Almighty Allah (God) has made certain animals Halal (lawful) and some others Haram (unlawful). He has also taught how to slaughter an animal. Muslims eat halal food which means that they don't eat meat the way that they don't slaughter it and food that don't have animal whey, gelatin, mono dieglicerites, and glycerin.
Its when you kill someones animal or animals in town.
The Muslims may eat all kinds of fruit, corn, fish, vegetables, and all pure and clean lawful things. Anyhow, Almighty Allah (God) has made certain animals Halal (lawful) and some others Haram (unlawful). He has also taught how to slaughter an animal. Kosher is the way an animal should be slaughtered. The Muslims don't eat the following; "Forbidden to you are the dead meat and blood, and swine flesh, and that on which the name other than Allah's has been pronounced at the time of slaughter, and that which has died by strangling, and that which dies due to a blow, and that which dies due to a fall, and that which is killed by impact, and that which has been eaten by a beast except the one that you slaughter, and those that are slaughtered at the altars, and that you distribute by drawing lot with arrows, all these are sins." Allah is the great creator. He know about now and then. before and after. There a lot of fruits in this world, Fish and other thing like animal that Muslims can slaughter them according to the manner of Muslim.
Sheep are slaughtered through the process of dhabiha (religious slaughter). The neck is punctured with two holes to allow all of the blood to drain out and a sharp knife is used to cut the animal's head off.
first it is not only Muslims who eats halal also other faith do, such as Jewish and actually Jewish not only do not eat meat from people not prepared based on their fate but also milk, butter, cheese etc as well. As for Muslim's, certain preparations should be in place before the slaughter of an animal take place to make his meat halal, such as: 1. the animal should be offered food or at least water before slaughter. 2. the animal should not be slaughtered next to another animal. example goat next to goat and it is forbidden to slaughter a mother or father next to their children and vise verse. 3. A pregnant animal should not be slaughtered neither a breath feeding one 4. It is better if the animal is pointed toward Mecca before slaughter. 5. On slaughter the words (sobhana man halalak lilzabeh...Allah Akhbar) meaning praise to Allah who made it halal (allowed) to slaughter you Allah is Great. if this is not said the meat is forbidden. 6. the instrument used to slaughter the animal should be very sharp and the animal should not suffer, furthermore some even forbid the meat if the animal suffer or if the knife used did not slaughter the animal in the first go. and the cut should be from the neck under the tracheal and when the cut is done the neck should remain attached to the body. 7. it is forbidden to eat a meat of a dead animal, (natural cause dead, accident etc) only a living animal can be eaten after slaughter. those are some of the reasons why the meat has to be halal and why do Muslim's only eat halal food, the above answer is to the best of my very little knowledge, accept my apology if their was mistake.
Eating foods that do not require animal slaughter.
