Scottish people celebrate Christmas just the same as the Americans and the English, etc. A lot of people believe they only celebrate at Hogmanay, but that is not the case. They have turkey, give and receive presents, go to their family's houses and some go to church. Traditionally, they put up a Christmas tree 12 days before Christmas and take it down 12 days after.

Scotland is part of the United Kingdom. The official state religion of England (the seat of the monarchy) is the Church of England, but it is not established in Scotland. 67% of Scotland's residents practice some form of Christianity, while 28% have no religion. There are around 40,000 Muslims (less than 1% of Scotland's population), and an unspecified number of Jews, Sikhs, and Hindus. The Samyé Ling monastery includes the largest Buddhist temple in Western Europe.

Christmas is celebrated over three main days, Christmas Eve 24th December, Christmas Day 25th December and Boxing Day 26th December. These are the same regardless of which country including Scotland.
