Chinchilla's are nice pets to keep but need a few things:
A Chinchilla mostly needs food and water to survive and their fur helps them survive to because when its cold outside the chinchilla wraps himself in the fur to keep him warm.Thank you for choosing my answer on wonderful answers.com
A nice spacy cage with lots of things to jump on such as little ledges you can get at the pet store, chinchillas love to jump. Get a dust bath with chinchilla dust you can get at the pet store. Get timothy hay and natural benefits from kaytee, chinchillas love those. Get a few unsalted almonds or other nuts from the chinchilla food section for a treat. Get a small litter box with carefree bedding. You should be good after you get a large pet rodent water bottle.
Chinchillas are not the average house pet. If you plan to get one, you need room for it to roam around. So they need lots of room. And you need a room that doesn't have alot of wires. If you do have a room with a whole bunch of wires just cover them up when you let them out. And chinchillas need to be picked up like you would pick up a dog, if you pick them up by the fur you will just end up with a handful of fur. And if you are planning to get 2 don't get a male and female pair unless you want babies!! NEVER EVER FEED CHINCHILLAS VEGETABLES!! If you feed chinchillas vegetables it will cause a build up in their stomach and can cause them to die. And also remeber they need a dust bath once a week! Treats you can give them are raisins, cornflakes, dry oatmeal, etc.
by the way i know all this cause for my birthday in april i will be getting a chinchilla my self.
needs to have a weekly dust bath. and food, water, and beeding(can not have any smell) a cage. perferivley more than two stories... they like to jump.
a huge cage, lots of food, lots of water, a bowl of sand and another chinchilla to keep it happy.
Chinchillas can bite but generally do NOT and are a very nice pet
Chinchillas are legal to own as a pet in California.
no they do not. chinchillas can have a be a house pet because they do not harm anyone and are friendly, and don't need the rain forest to survive. originated in Asia and the European countries chinchillas are cuddly nocturnal animals.
Pet chinchillas cost from $75 to $250, depending on the color.
It depends where you live. The Petco that I live near at, does have chinchillas! Not all Petco's have Chinchillas though, because they are expensive and will become rare if every, single pet store has one!
Chinchillas are (almost) like any other pet (socialization wise). You have to gain their trust by interacting with them everyday for about 3-6 hours. Most chinchillas take 3 months to fully earn your trust. If they trust you (and they are used to you petting them) they won't mind being pet. They LOVE if you scratch (not too hard) their chins! One of my chinchillas likes being pet between the ears.
Chinchillas are native to south america. They are not naturally found anywhere esle unless someone releases a pet.
chinchillas cost around $100. Though it matters where you buy it, and wat there coat color is.
anywhere really i got mine from pet smart just go to a pet store and they should have em
It is not recommended to allow pet chinchillas outside. There are too many dangers for them. They are quite clean pets and are best looked after inside. You are supposed to keep them in a roomy cage, and let them out of it sometimes, but keeping them in a room. Talk to a pet shop owner and also to a vet about chinchillas before even considering getting one. There is a lot you will need to know about them in order to provide a good home and the best care for them.
They most of time don't because they don't want to get their buyers to breed so that they, Petco, cannot sell chinchillas.
Yes, you can get them at pet stores like petsmart and some petcos.
