In regards to the cherry blossom, which only blossoms for a short period of time. From my understanding...which may not be very much...it is used to represent the fleeting beauty of nature, in relation to life itself. Life (or a moment in ones life) may only last for a short period (and take many shapes). But that is why it's beautiful. Because it doesn't last forever and because it can take many shapes.
