I would say they are mostly Roman Catholic, yes.
It talks of the collapse of the Pope and the catholic church.
I heard him say in a radio interview that he is a Roman Catholic.
It's just Catholic, not Roman Catholic. Roman is an epithet first commonly used in England after the protestant revolt to describe the Catholic Church. It is never used by the official Catholic Church. There really is no such thing as "British Catholic" or "American Catholic" other than a Catholic who lives in those areas. It has always just been "Catholic" before and after the Council of Niceae.
Roman Catholic AnswerBecause of his great humility.
Roman Catholic AnswerBoth, actually. the Church, properly speaking, is "One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic". That is how it is described in the Creed. The "Catholic" part is just an adjective which means universal, and the "Roman" part is used as an adjective to say that it's head, Christ's vicar on earth is in Rome. So saying Roman Catholic Church would be the same as saying: "Christ's Universal Church who's vicar is in Rome".Roman Catholic AnswerBoth, actually. the Church, properly speaking, is "One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic". There seems to be some debate as to how devout she is. Some say she is a "non-practicing" catholic. She practices IVF and is therefore not a Catholic by any stretch of the imagination.
About 75% of Spain is Roman Catholic. About 20% say they are atheists or non-believers.
