The polar bear's most common hunting method is called still-hunting. The bear uses its excellent sense of smell to locate a seal breathing hole, and crouches nearby in silence for a seal to appear. The polar bear eats seals most often.

Polar bears also smell seals in their caves under the ice. The bears then break through the ice and hope to catch a seal before it can swim away.

The polar bears favorite food source is the ringed seal.
they eat fish and they catch it by grabbing them out the water or swimming to get them

A polar bear gets its food because it lets the dad go and get the food and if the dad dont come back or if dont get its food and fail the hunting it will die it will strove and die and the mother and kids will try to stay alive
Polar Bears are Carnivores predators who get their food by hunting. Polar Bears are expert hunters. They usually hunt in areas that interface between ice and water. They rarely hunt in open water. They use a technique called "Still Hunting". They use their excellent sense of smell to locate a seal breathing hole and wait for the seal to appear. When the Seal comes out to breathe, the bear smells its breath, reaches into the hole with its front paws and drags it out of the water. They kill the seal by biting its head. They often raid the birth lairs of female seals and prey on the seal pups. They are extremely powerful and can even kill an adult walrus.
