Most modern day Mayans are either ambivalent, feel that earth changes might occur if humans don't take more care of our planet, or feel a new age is about to commence.
There is no concrete evidence of what the ancient Mayans thought would occur at the end of their Long Count calendar in December 2012. But they did leave us a book, the Popol Vuh, which describes what happened at the end of their previous ages (aka Suns) - the gods wiped out all humans via natural disasters and replaced them with a new and improved model.
The Aztecs, who inherited much from the Maya, believed that the end of this Sun would be due to an earthquake, as depicted on their Sun Stone.
According to the scientist, they kind of believe so. They found an ancient calendar that belonged to the Mayans. The Mayans predicted that the world would end on December 21, 2012.
people believe that the world will end in 2012, they believe this because a few cultures/people supposedly have evidence that the world will end i.e. Nostradamus and the mayans
Nothing. Their calendar simply ended around this year.
no they thought of endings as a good thing stop being a noob its not gunna happen
No, the Mayans believe that the world will end in Dec. 21, 2012, but I personally don't think it will end in 2012, either.
The world will not end in 2012. People believe it will because that is where the Mayans ended their calender, though in reality their calender is repeating. So, in 2012, the cycle beings again.

dummies do dummy Scientists might, and anybody that saw the movie. Obviously the Mayans did.
The Mayans didn't calculate the end of the earth would be 2012, they just stopped counting.
the mayans stopped making the calander or something so now everyone is worried but i don't believe it
