You will have to sue for divorce. Get a lawyer and go through the court process. If both people want a divorce, it can be settled out of court without hassle, but if one doesn't, then it gets messy and expensive. Hopefully you don't have children involved, it would be even worse for them. In the case of children, I would suggest working it out for their sake so they don't grow up in a broken home.

∙ 15y agoIt happens quite often, that one spouse doesn't want a divorce. In this kind of divorce, there usually has to be one good guy and one bad guy. That means, you have to be the good guy and have reasons to show that she's the bad guy. When she gets the divorce papers she can respond and drag out the procedure since she doesn't want a divorce. This can be very time consuming.

∙ 14y agoIt is the court - not the wife (or husband) who grants the divorce. In most states, if one spouse files for a divorce, the court will grant the divorce (assuming there are no jurisdictional issues). She may not want a divorce, she may not agree to a divorce, but she cannot prevent you from obtaining a divorce.
