pets are always pets. Some days we give all our attention when we feed them but on some days we dont.. If your pet gets used to your attention while eating, he wont eat food if you dont give that attention when you call them for food.. So either dont give attention while the pet eats from the beginning or give him all that you have. I have a dog at home who wont eat if i dont sit near him till he eats :)

canned food is ok as long as he gets enough and fresh water. Some people are fat, some are skinny - same for pets. yes. and make sure that after the cat eats it has some water available right after he eats - but not in the same place as the food - cats like food and water to be separate for some reason.
