I have never known a Chrysler product to have "driving lights" ("DRL"--- daytime running lights) such as used in GM products. ??I have never known a Chrysler product to have "driving lights ( or daytime running lights -- DRL-- as ther are referred to by Gen Motors)Canadian Models do have them, but not American Models.
The new Polo (2011) does not have "Daytime driving lights". It is fitted with "Permanent driving lights". The lights on cars with Daytime running lights can be switched off by using one of the stalks on the steering wheel, or by removing a fuse (daytime driving lights are on a seperate light circuit) Permanent driving lights cannot be switched off. If hte fuse is removed it will disable your headlights and backlights altogether. The only way to disable it is to remove the rotary light switch and cover the pin marked "TFL"
The cause is THE EXTREME DAYTIME IN DESERT. The effect is DRIVING ACROSS THE DESERT AT NIGHT.

well, to avoid it, you can keep driving west at a speed that can outpace the sunset. or, go to Alaska when it's daylight for weeks at a time. to completely stop night from comming, you have to stop the earths spin all together (which is humanly impossible, probably) then stay on the side where it's only daytime. don't forget sunscreen!
