What do you do when people bully you?

The most effective thing to do is to walk away. This provides little reinforcement - for their behavior to continue. If this involves a meaningful relationship, then also let them know you might be willing to return to the conversation when mutual respect is agreed to.

If you want to do it nicely this is what you do. First you tell them to get out of your face and say i don't like it when you do that. So don't do it. But my way is to say, Get out of my face, i don't care what you say, and I'll snap your bone if you say it again. (I take karate)

Try to forgive them. I know it is hard, but we need to be good do people. Then they might not pick on you. If they are physically harming you (punching), then fight back.

Here's what I did when someone was cyber bullying me:

"I don't appreciate being called a "moron". You are very well inclined to disagree with my answer, but please do so in the future in a more respectable and appropriate manner. I know this is the internet, and insults can be thrown around easily with no regard to consequences...However, it would be more becoming of you as an individual to recant such statements and allow for a healthy enlightenment on both sides. You obviously like history, and wish to correct any errors and misunderstandings on those who don't pay attention to the facts, and you have my compliments on that, but please...consider the point that you may well be wrong, and perhaps instead of calling a person a "retard or moron", you should politely inquire where they learned such a fact..."

Now my response initially had an irritated tone to it, so I said this:

"If you feel that my response to your answer sounds a bit angry, well, how would you have reacted? I will change it, as I feel that responding to insults with anger is not the way to go. As Thomas Jefferson once said, "always remain cool and collected". No hard feelings my friend "

You see? That's how I deal with cyber bullies. You have to take the high ground and no matter how angry you are, don't insult them back to yell back because that's what they want you to do. Just give a mature and intelligent response, and you'll just leave them completely frustrated.

DO NOT tell a teacher! You will be called a snitch, and teachers have very little authority to do anything.

All it is, is words. You need to rise above it. Insult them back, have a bit of banter with them. If they become agressive, they'll be the one to get into trouble. If they hit you, defend yourself. Don't take any shine from anybody, unless it's the concequence for something you've done.

For me, when i got bullied by people, i was u know pretty upset but i didn't talk to anyone instead i just ignored them ever since then and they got pretty bored...they stopped bullying me after a while
