Beating the first 5 villains gets you your Flying Power. But when you beat Betty Jetty, your "sidekick" tackles her, and Ned Noodleman gets the Island Medallion. Go to his comic shop and ask him about it, and bring a hot dog.

The problem is that Ned Noodlehead (who tackles Betty Jetty) gets the Island Medallion by mistake. Get a hot dog and bring it to his comic book store, and he will swap you the medallion.
