Here is a recipe that works for all wild birds.
Supplies:
1. A Spoon
2. A Blender or Chopper
3. Dog or Cat food with a Protein Percentage of at least 20%
4. One Hard Boiled Egg
5. Water
Step 1: Put about 1 Cup of dog or cat food into the blender or chopper. Blend until it is the consistency of sand.
Step 2: Mix the hard boiled egg in with the dog or cat food and blend until smooth.
Step 3: Add about 1/2 cup of water, or until the mix looks like thin oatmeal.
Step 4: Mix with spoon.
Step 5: Refrigerate, but serve at room temperature.
When you are ready to feed, scoop some onto a toothpick or into a syringe. Gently drop into baby birds moth when it opens it. Don't force it to open its mouth unless it has gone without food for several hours. You do not need to give the bird any water. It will get all of its water from the food.
***It is illegal to keep a wild bird in captivity if it is a native species. Birds that did not originate in the US you may keep (Sparrows, Starlings). If you may not keep it, call your local vet. They will tell you who to call so it can be released into the wild. Also do not be afraid to put the little bird back in its nest. Birds have no sense of smell so they cannot smell you on the baby. (Vultures are the only birds that can smell.)***
You should probably give it to your local animal shelter
Feed it meal worms or if it doesn't eat them blend them in a blender to make a meal worm shake.
Depending on the variety of Sunbird, you would need to feed fruit that is ground into a paste or nectar. You can purchase commercial nectar products in pet food stores.
bird feed
It needs feeding about every 20-15 mins.
well if that baby bird is your pet and it can nearly fly,....... no. Trust me i have a baby bird for a pet.
You should feed it.
It is best if you don't feed it yourself. It can get stressed out and/or die. its best to call or bring to a bird sanctuary. Plus its illegal to take care of a baby bird without a licence. Do not touch the baby bird except in emergency or if its injured. Often the mother bird will come back and feed it. But if it has human scent, she will abandon it and it will die.
no bread
Being extinct, they don't eat anything.
You can feed a baby mynah bird grapes, apples, peaches ,papya , and other fruits just don't give him too much bananas
It depends of how old it is. If it is a new born set it in a basket and feed it Exact/ baby birds. It is a powder that you mix with water and my baby bird loves it! Use a eye dropper to feed it though or if it is two weeks old than give it Exact/ adults. It is a chunky food that birds love.
no! the acid in the tomatoes will kill the baby bird because the baby will get toxic and die.
sure :) it's meat x
You need to stuff the food down the beak just like the mom bird does. She softens it up and spits it up into the beak of the baby.
