A mixed breed/mongrel/crossbreed. Although some ''designer'' breeds exist (such as Cockerpoos and Labradoodles) these are also simply mixed breeds - not purebreds. Technically, you would get Labrador X Staffordshire Bull Terrier puppies. A shocking 40% of Dogs taken into shelters are Staffy or Staffy crosses, so this breeding is definately not recommended - it will only add to the numbers of homeless and unwanted Dogs.

It depends a lot on how much 'staffy' is in it compared to how much 'lab' for starters, and whether or not these two are the only breeds in its background. Assuming though you mean pups were born to one purebred Staffordshire Bull Terrier and one purebred Labrador, there can still be quite a difference between the pups in the same litter.

I have had one and although my boy had a beautifully loyal and affectionate temperament, that also depends on what comes through from what parent and, of course, the owner's ability with dogs.

Let's get back to looks though, coats can be anything from brindle, black, brown, white patches, (i don't think staffy blue though, they might be recessive genes) with short to medium hair length.

My male looked like this:

(and quite a few have very similar looks in a Google images search, but most are mutts that are majority staffy x 'whatever other breed')

A little more towards the lab hieght size than staffy.
Thin legs, that are quite muscular at the thighs and chest, sort of stretched staffy legs really.
At about 1 1/2 years approx. his neck and chest grew by 20% in about a month
which was not long before he decided he liked sniffing around for females, but before that he was pretty proportionate with his thinner back end, maybe a bit chestier than a lab is, but afterwards he became a monstrosity.
his head was pretty much between a staffy and lab, which looks awesome if you ask me, but others would say it's dead set ugly.

The best example of this is at The Guardian article linked below.

(Don't ask me what the article about pensions has to do with the picture, but that's spot on for looks in the litter, and was found in google images with your question in mind).

but remember, it's how you treat your dog that affects its behavior. mine was my best friend by far out of any dog I've ever had. (i grew up with German shepherds which are pretty damn great dogs too.)

I hope this helps you or others out there considering a staffy x lab. if you've got the love and time to walk and play with it (like all dogs deserve), get one i say.

Why do Labradors appear to be more loved than staffordshire bull terriers in public?

The sunny, smart, and hard-working Labrador Retriever is America's favorite dog. The Labrador Retriever was bred to be both a friendly companion and a useful working dog. and staffordshire bull terriers, are kind of dull, but smart, more of a lazy couch patato, it hasn't been found, to be very popular, because it likes to sleep alot. The Staffordshire Bull Terrier, was bred to be a guard dog, and to be a lap dog, friendly, but not as useful as the Labrador!

Pound for pound, Staffordshires are the stronger breed. That being said, they are considerably smaller than Labs, so their size may work to their disadvantage
