Attend one of the Military Academies and graduate. Attend college and participate in the Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC). Being a commissioned officer in the US Armed Forces first requires for you to have your four year degree, so that would be the first thing you do. You'd get your commission either through OCS or ROTC. You'd have to volunteer for Ranger Regiment, and get the assignment. Coming straight out of ROTC/OCS, you wouldn't be placed in a leadership position right away, but rather, would most likely be assigned a staff position before being placed in any leadership role.
The Ranger Regiment requires that anyone assigned to a leadership position have their Ranger tab, so the Ranger school is going to be a must (also, as a commissioned officer in a active duty combat arms unit, you would more or less be expected to attend Ranger school even if you weren't assigned to the 75th Ranger Regiment).

In the United States, most soldiers of the u. S. Army are classified as enlisted, and to become one of them you would start the process by talking to a recruiter. If you are qualified, you would enlist, usually becoming a Private.
A smaller number of members are officers, who are in more supervisory roles. Most officers first went to college and took ROTC courses, then entered the Army as Second Lieutenants.
It is also possibile to enlist first and later apply for OCS (Officer Candidate School) in hopes of becoming an officer.
