That is the current minimum score that you can have to join the United States Navy. 31 is the miminum score for the Naval Reserves. With a score of 35, you would most likely no qualify for any "A" schools so you would become an undesignated seaman, airman, or fireman upon completion of basic training (boot camp).

GPA is not a good indication of intelligence or ability. Let me explain: I took the ASVAB in 1982 for the US Navy. At that time, I qualified for all Navy ratings except one, which required a perfect score. My GT score was in excess of 120. I graduated from high school the year before with a 1.67 GPA, a flat D average. I was 57th in a class of 64. Since that time, I have earned two degrees, and scored well on several IQ tests. The ASVAB is primarily a performance or ability test. There is an IQ component as well. How you did in school will have very little to do with how you score on the ASVAB.
