You need shin and knee guards, really strong elbow pads (dont get them with fabric on them because they rip easily on concrete), gloves, stick, helmet with cage/visor, cup (that depends...), and (der) inline skates. They make inline skates specificly for roller hockey so get them. They hace a harder outer shell, all laces (no clips), and they dont have a rubber stopper. I wouldn't recommend chest protector unless they allow hitiing in your league (which they usually dont) or you like to block a lot of shots. Hoped this helped!!!
You can't size your equipment, hockey players have different preferences. Some like there equipment smaller for better movement or bigger for more protection.

field hockey is a game played on grass or turf. you use hockey like sticks except with a curve at the bottom. the play is 11 vs. 11 and there are many rules of the game. it is like a combination of hockey and soccer.
if you are just watching the game, just go like you would regularly to anywhere. However, if you're gonna play, you should have your equipment, skates, stick, gloves, and helmet. (and this is only for ICE hockey) if you're gonna play floor hockey, you just need arm and knee pads and a stick
well there is ice hockey and there is curling which is more like shuffleboard on ice
Well, by field hockey I think you mean hockey games that are done on the ground like field hockey, street hockey, ect. It is called ice hockey. *Field hockey and ice hockey are completely different rulebases. As the first answer pretty much describes, it is simply called "field hockey on ice", like it is called "field hockey on grass", "on turf", "on concrete", etc.

Hockey wasn't "made" by any one person. It was a game developed in Canada in the late 1800's. Several areas in eastern Canada have made claims as to where the game was first played but there is no consensus as to the exact location. If you're interested in the origins and history of the game, I would suggest you read a good book like Mr. Stan Fischler's Hockey Chronicles or check articles on ice hockey history on sites like Wikipedia.
hes Canadian, why wouldn't you like hockey? In Canada hockey's a religion. Hockey is life, life is hockey!!
