ive already been to a dance and it rocked okay first of all you have to know the theme if it is a valentines dance wear red, white, pink, and silver. if it is a casual dance wear a tanktop (if allowed) and jeans and a Christmas dance wear red and green something chritmasy and finally if a Halloween dance wear somethings that pops! something that people will stare at and wish they were wearing the out fit you want to stand out nicley.

It depends what you're asking about, competitions, exams or just practice dancing.
In competitions, I think that you're instructor(s) would help you choose a dress or a standard suit (depending if you're male or female).
For exams, again, I'd suggest that you ask a proffesional, one of the more advanced students or your teacher.
For practice dancing I usually wear a dress just under the knee or a smart skirt with my dance shoes. If you're a guy, try only to wear jeans as a last resort. If you have some black trousers I recommend you wear those. Don't wear trainers, try some school shoes or maybe your Dad's shoes (ask first!).
The main thing to bear in mind is that you must be able to move while feeling comfortable in what you're wearing. P.S Girls, no strapless tops; they cause mayhem.
