What does it mean when a guy says we need to take a break?

To distance yourselves from each other and allow time to find yourselves and take the pressure off of the relationship. This should only be done when it really is getting hsrd though and should not be taken lightly as sometimes things can never go back to the way they were

In my experience, when a guy says that you need to take a break, it usually means he wants to break up. If you have a very hectic life (example: you both have busy work/school schedules, extracurricular activities), then he may just need a break to focus on his life in general. I would talk to him and see what the deal is!
