Types of unit process?

Type your answer here... Chemical engineering divided in to unit operations and unit processes. Unit operations involve those, where no chemical reaction ocurring. eg: filteration, evaporation, distillation In unit processes, chemical reactions involved. eg: chemical reactions and synthesis.

What is open vessel and closed vessel in chemical reaction engineering?

open -open vessel means dispersion is same at inlet & outlet.there is bulk mixing. Eg: Tubular reactors.

How is high compressibility of gas useful to us?

high compressibility of gas is very useful to us. due to this property, gases can be easily liquified into very small volumes and can be used in our homes and in other works. eg. LPG, CNG.

Why is the feed in a distillation column introduced from the bottom?

This is not a rule. it is depend upon the feed conditions. eg. feed at 1. saturated liquid (cold) 2. partial vapors 3. Vapours 4. saturated vapors 5 at boiling point

Whait is process in making LPG cylinder?

Every country has a standard to make this kind of cylinders. For example in my country there is a standard to make this kind of cylinders. And this instructions must to be followed by any factory which want make LPG cylinders. For example this kind of factories , must follows the meassures , welding specifications using special process , the steel used under standard for quality , hardeness , etc. Size of cylinders , shapes , according the use, for example household , automotive , industry ,etc. Any use must have a different design. For example you musn´t use the cylinder desingned for automotive in household and so on. If you want to get more specific information about this , you should go to your local office for standars in your country . So every country has an office for standards which is something like a library where only you can find all standards instructions to make a lot of things.. Eg. Automotive , Mechanical , Chemical , Aircraft ,etc... Regards.

Is the solubility of HCl in water a physical phenomenon or a chemical reaction?

Dissolving HCl (or any other dissolvable compound, eg. sugar, salt) in water is physical.

Is hydrochlorothiazide a barbiturate or narcotic?

Is hydrochloride an narcodic Answer No there is no such thing as Hydrocloride on its own, Hydrochloride is a Salt of HCL or Hydrochloric Acid, eg Morphine HCL, Pethidine HCL, Dextromoramide HCL although the latter is usually mixed with Tartaric Acid to produce Dextromoramide Tartrate. I hope this answers your question. Dextro32.....................................................................................................................

Why HCl and HNO3 can be used in combination but HCl and H2SO4 not?

this is because when hcl and hno3 is mixed then it ionizes into h+and cl- and and and you may knaw rust is the mixing of foriegn particles in the pure substances. eg-fe+o2=fe2o3 so when gold is mixed with hcl and hnoc the it gives off aucl4. ie au pure gold is mixed with the pollutant cl4 similarly when h2so4 cant be used because s04 is not the neutral radical like no3 of hno3 thus s04 not being neutral and no3 being neutral h2so4 cant be used

What does combining an Acid and base form?

Water plus a salt eg caustic soda + hydrochoric acid NaOH + HCl -> H2O + NaCl Some of these reactions can be explosive, so don't try it

How do you prepare 1N solution of 35.4 percent HCl?

As it is in the form of liquid dilute it with water for eg.,to make 10 ml of 5% H CL Take 0.5 ml of H CL and add 9.5 ml of water. this is based on the calculation Volume percent is a common expression of a solution,s concentration It is defined as:

How do you form a neutral salt?

If you react an acid and a base together, eg. HCl + NaOH, the compounds will disassociate into ions, and then the H+ and OH- ions combine to produce water, and the other ions, eg. Cl- and Na+, will form a salt, eg. NaCl

50ml HCl is titrated with a solution of 0.24m NaOH?

You need to know 3 out of 4 variables to calculate the unknown. Formula: V1*M1=V2*M2 In your question only V1 (=50 mL) and M2 (=0.24m) are known. Eg. V2 (volume of added NaOH in mL) has to be determined (most probably your buret readings; I hope you still can find it back in your lab journal)

What is an conjugate acid?

An acid base pair which differ from each other by a single proton(H+ ion) is called a conjugate pair. Eg. Acid Base HCl Cl- NH3 NH4+ H2O H3O+

The benefits to humankind of the chlor alkali proces?

Chlor-alkali industry: electrolysis of brine(saturated sodium chloride solution). Chlorine, Sodium hydroxide and hydrogen are produced, which all have a large number of uses. eg) sodium hydroxide- soap, paper, aluminum extraction, inorganic/organic sodium salts, effluent treatment, textiles(eg rayon, wool, cotton) chlorine-HCl, bromine production(photography), water treatment, plastic, solvents, disinfectants, extraction of titanium, chemicals(eg dyes, pesticides) hydrogen-welding, food industry(margarine), HCl, ammonia, hydrogen peroxide, rocket fuel

What is the hydrochloric acid pH scale?

HCl is a very strong acid: dilute solution (eg. 3.65 g/L) has pH of 1.0 , or when concentration is 3.65 mg/L then pH = 4.0.

How you can identify salt as electrolyte or non electrolyte?

I don't think you will find many non-electrolytic salts. Salts are formed by Acid-Base neutralization reaction. There are four possible types of reactants involved based on their dissociation strengths. i.e. 1.Strong acid and Strong base (Eg HCl and NaOH) 2. Strong acid and weak base (Eg HCl and NH4OH) 3. Weak acid and strong base (Eg HCOOH and NaOH) 4. Both weak acid and base (Eg HCOOH and NH4OH) In all the cases, neutralization takes place to form salts. And surprisingly, the salts formed i.e., NaCl, NH4Cl,HCOO-Na and H-COO-NH4 respectively, irrespective of the strengths of the reactants are found to be strong electrolytes.

What do you produce when you Combine acid base?

If acid & base are combined a neutal substance is produced.
