To most Jews, Jesus doesn't really mean anything. Some may believe he was a prophet, but in general, the Jewish religion does not believe that Jesus was the son of God or the Messiah they are waiting for, so he was just a man.

The name is from the Tanakh (Hebrew Bible) and is a combination of yir'eh (Genesis 22:14) and Shalem (Genesis 14:18), into the Hebrew "Yerushalayim" (English mispronunciation "Jerusalem"). Yir'eh means fear, awareness or cognizance of God's presence, and Shalem means perfection.
