In Hinduism Cow is also known as "Panchtarni" i.e. there are five stages of librating oneself from these worldly things. Cow is believed to be a great helper in crossing this 5 stage and to attain salvation. These five are

1. Kam

2. Krodh (Anger)

3. Lobh (Desire to accumulate much more than his ability)

4. Moh (Relationship of father-son-daughter-wife etc. etc.)

5. Aahankar (Feeling proud of himself or we can say to much egoish)
