In short, a hypothesis is a statement believed to be true - because of observation or reasoning, for example - but one not yet tested by experiment, or, in mathematics, not formally proven to be true. Hypotheses in science are often predictive, and their predictions can form the basis of experiments to prove or refute them.

As long a it extends the first Hypothesis. EXAMPLE: The hypothesis is, that adding steroids to a bears diet will in turn cause cancer in baby bears and will also cause rabies in later years. In this case you would be testing two different variables, therefore having 2 different hypothesis'.

Hypothesis means an educated guess about the outcome of an experiment. For example, if you were to perform an experiment about how fast water boils depending on different temperatures your hypothesis may be "the higher the temperature used, the faster the water will boil"
