The ALT GR key is a key modifier like shift, you hold it while pressing another key, to get a different symbol.
For example, for the 'e' key,
Press normally = e
Shift + e = E
AltGr + e = é
You can also press AltGr + 4 to get the Euro symbol, €.
AltGr + q (in Latin American keyboard) AltGr + 2 (in Spaniard keyboard)
On my (European) keyboard, €= AltGr+e
