The International System of Units, abbreviated SI, comes from the French Le Système International d'Unités.

Standard International or "système international" in French, which I don't need to translate I guess.

That's the most often used units in science and are mainly metric units.

It stands for its name in French, the Systeme Internationale d'Unites. In English this would be the International System of Units.
