A circumcised penis has been mutilated in such a way that the glans at the front of the penis is totally exposed. An intact penis has this area covered with a double layered tube of skin that can be retracted to expose the glans when required. The reason it is there is to protect the glans as well as being a mayor erogenous zone the outside of it looks like the kin of the rest of the penis and the inside of it is very sensitive and covered with mucous membrane like the glans. It has a ridge built in at the end acts like an elastic band which closes the foreskin around the end of the glans when it is not erect

When looking at a flaccid intact penis you will note that the skin that cover the trunk of the penis under the glans caries on around the glans leaving a small openings at the very tip where urine can be passed. When a male is born the foreskin is still attached to the glans of the penis and trying to loosen it will cause damage and possible infection.

As the boy gets older the foreskin separates from the glans and with a little bit of natural fiddling around (something a lot of intact boys like to do because it feels nice) the foreskin stretches and in time is able to be retracted so as to expose the glans entirely.

When looking at an erect penis one will often note that the foreskin is withdrawn a little from the tip of the glans. So what you see is the penis as you would if it were circumcised then at the point where the glans start you will note the shape of the glans under it then you will often but not necessarily always see the tip of the glans.

when the penis is inserted and withdrawn the foreskin will also roll back and forth over the glans.
