Delta y or Δy means the change in vertical displacement.
It is normaly used in equations related to dropped or launched objects.
y
Let y+x=16n (sum of two forces)r=8n (resultant of forces)suppose x
If x and y have a direct square relationship it means that the term x is proportional to a constant multiplied by y squared x=ky^2 or to simplify x is proportional to y squared.
The greater the ratio of y to x
(x, y) In most physics problems, projectile motion is shown on a 2-dimensional plane where x is the direction left and right, and y is the direction up and down.
It means a change in. For example if you had Delta(y) that would mean a change in Y values in respect to another variable
If you mean the slope of the line with equation y = x then it is 1 and there is no y intercept
y-x is an expression, not an equation. Therefore, the question does not make sense.
That pyramid symbol (or better defined as a triangle as to not get confused with lower mathematics / geometry) simply means a change in something. The actual term is "delta" and it is also known as the derivative of y as seen here: (delta) y / (delta) x. (delta) y / (delta) x would be read as the change in y with respect to x.
If you mean: y = x+4 then the perpendicular equation can be y = -0.5x+4
Equivalent equation means two equations, x and y,such thatx = y
If you mean: y = -4x+3 then the parallel equation will have the same slope but a different y intercept
When an equation is in slope-intercept form (y = mx + b), the slope is the variable m, where y is the the y-coordinate, x is the x-coordinate, and b is the y-intercept (where the line crosses the vertical axis). Slope is calculated as rise over run, or delta y over delta x. For example, you have a line on a graph and you need to know the slope. Find two points from that line and write down its coordinates--say, (2,6) and (4,8). The change in y (delta y, rise) is 2, because 8 - 6=2. The change in x (delta x, run) is 2, because 4 - 2=2. Note: make sure that when subtracting the x and y coordinates, that you do them in order. For example, don't go 8-6 and then 2-4. Since slope is delta y over delta x, the slope of the line is 2/2, or 1.
Do you mean y = 4x+9? If so then the y intercept is 9
If you mean y = 2x then it is a straight line equation
If you mean as in a straight line equation then it is y = mx+b whereas m is the slope and b is the y intercept
If you mean: (-4, 8) and (0, 0) then the equation works out as: y = -2x and there is no y intercept
