Used as a suffix, "ese" means a kind of dialect or specialized language. Doctors can be said to speak medicalese. Lawyers speak legalese. Etc.

Ese in spanish means that. Este means this. It must have morphed somehow to mean that one or this one. "Que pasa, ese? I've heard street Hispanics referred to as Ese's.

Ese hombre means that man.
really it kind of means "that"

"ese nino" is "that boy"

"esa Nina" is "that girl"

you can't say "esa nino", because esa is determing a girl, and nino means boy.

Also gangmembers determine Mexican, or Mexican American(chicano), gangmembers as ese's and girl gangmembers esa's

'Es' in Spanish means '(he/she/it) is.' It's an irregular verb form of ser, 'to be'. For example: El gato mio es simpatico (My cat is nice.)

In German, "es" is the indefinite pronoun for neuternouns, or "das" words, to mean "it."

In English, '-es' makes a noun ending in 2 or more consonants a plural, eg bunches, bushes, watches, searches.
"Es" is Spanish for "is".
