Evolving a Pokemon drastically changes a Pokemon's appearance (normally, to show they became more mature and stronger.) and highly boosts its stats. This is one of the most important to do to have a strong team.

∙ 12y agoThere more your Pokemon evolves the bonus' it gets. Every time your Pokemon evolves it gets a stat boost and some additional points if it has lvled up in the process. So if you get the choice you should do it! Unless you don't like the look of the new Pokemon, you should never evovle something just 'for the time being' because you can never un-eveolve. Just saying evolving also can decrease stats.
