In the Old Testament God forbade His people from marrying those outside of the household of faith. So it isn't necessarily forbidden to not marry outside of your race. Anytime that someone was prohibited from marrying someone else it was on the matter of them being faithful to God. In the New Testament, since the Gospel went out to the Gentiles as well as to the Jews (there is a bit of this in the OT too) there is much more intermarriage, as there are many more faithful Christians from different races!
