Is Superhuman Durability and Invulnerability the same thing?
Invulnerability is where you are not hurt by anything. I.E Superman except when Kryptonite is present. Superhuman Durability is where you a individual has a higher tolerance to certain injuries than normal injuries. I.E broken bones, gun shot wounds, cuts, ect. To answer your question directly. Invulnerability and Superhuman Durability are not the same thing. Marvel is a good source sense these powers are usually linked to characters from Marvel or D.C Comics.

How did Achilles became a immortal?
Achilles was not immortal. He died during just prior to the sacking of Troy, killed by an arrow to the heel shot by Paris and guided by Apollo. His invulnerability - not immortality- was acquired as an infant when his mother, Thetis, dipped Achilles in the river Styx, holding him by the heel which did not gain invulnerability.

Why was Achilles invulnerable with his heel?
Okay first let me say that the belief of the invulnerability of Achilles began in the first century BC starting with a poem by Statius. (Long after the Trojan War.) It was not known before this and really Homer records three event when Achilles received minor wounds and even bleed. I don't like the idea of Achilles being invulnerable as it depreciates his humanity, his commitment to the war and the deserving drama of situation. That said: when Achilles was a child his mother dipped him in the River Styx which gave him invulnerability. However she did this she held him by the ankle so that ankle didn't get the effect of the river's water and it was his vulnerable point.
