That means that he is probably dating your friend and he likes you and he just don't want her to know.
It means he likes you but he doesn't want to play it off as he does like you. basically he's trying to act cool around.

∙ 12y agowhat he's doing, is he's trying to look cool in front of his friends. No boy wants to admit a special liking for a girl, it makes them look soft. Just accept that he really does have feelings for you, and if you really aren't sure, then get a special moment when you are both alone and ask him your self. If he still says no, then move on. Don't dwell on his response thinking that it was because of you. You're perfect the way you are! there are plenty more out there waiting for you.
But also keep in mind, if he has a friend with benefits already, you wanna make sure he's not just playing you and looking for another "benefits" girl. If I were you, I wouldn't take the chance on a guy who does that and because you deserve a guy who you're sure is only interested in you.
