There plenty of reasons, to many for me to discuss. here's a few...
-It may be they believe you are not the right person for them.
-they may have hurt you and dont want to around you because they can not forgive themselves, no matter how much you say it is alright
-you have hurt them and they are just afraid of being hurt again.
-that they care about you but are not love with you.
- Or you may be reading to much into everything because you may still have hope at salvaging a relationship with them and want them to love you as much as you love them. usually the reason with those who've recently broken up

Okay, just because he's had two girlfriends doesnt mean he's not into you. He could be, but love doesnt always last forever. I say, that if he asks you to go out and you feel its right and want to go out with him then say yes and try to keep the baggage out. If it really bothers you, talk to him about it or don't go through with it. Just remember, even if someone has been with someone else, doesnt always mean they dont like you now
