Either he's just super polite or he likes you. does he do this all the time or help people a lot with stuff? If not, he's saying hey, you matter to me enough that I want to help you and get your attention at the same time.

I wouldn't say flirting. It just shows how much he wants you. If a guy takes your hand and touches it, it shows respect for you as he is not doing it elsewhere. But then again, you have to see if he is your boyfriend or just a normal friend and how much you know about him to actually figure out what he wants.

The pencil would just slide out of your hand because there would be nothing holding it there. You would have to balance the pencil on your hand!

it is still used today by just sharpening it by hand with a plastic sharpener with a metal blade it in and some of them now are electric and can just put the pencil in the hole and it sharpens by using electricity

Most likely, but a few guys are just odd or "friendly". If he seems, normal then see if smiles at you while he touches your hand. The rest is obvious. My answer: If a guy touches you in a lot of places, which I don't need to know. From my experience, when I walk by he usually just gives me a high five, which is a good sign that he likes you. If he gives you a high five that usually means he's comfortable around you around you and he likes you.
