What does it mean when the steering wheel is hard to turn when the car first starts it but gets easier when it warms up?
most likely, power steering pump low on fluid or on its way out,i think.
Why does your power steering work perfect when you start your car and its cold the second it warms up you have no power steering anymore?
Yes. As heat trapping gas accumulates in the atmosphere, the air warms first. This subsequently warms the land and oceans. The oceans are big, and represent large heat sinks, so it takes considerable time to alter their heat content. Land tends to heat and cool much more rapidly. But it is the air that warms first.
It could be that the starter or solenoid is in a bind after the engine warms up. Metal expands and contracts with temperature. This is only a solution if it starts when cold which would be the first time it is started. Try starting it cold then shut it off before it gets hot then see if it will restart. If it won't start when hot maybe try replacing the starter. Hope that helps you…
